Big leaf maple trees fill the forests and yards here in the Pacific Northwest. A sure sign of spring is when they drop down their frilly blossoms, coloring the forest canopies a vivid light green. While I’ve long admired maple trees, I’ve never sampled their blossoms until now! And I’ve been missing out!

This is a great project that you can test out on your upcoming camp trip...making delicious Cedar Tea from fresh cedar leaves! It tastes spicy, refreshing, and a little bit like Christmas! I'll definitely be preparing it as my bedtime drink under the stars on upcoming camping trips. 

Hunting and foraging for chanterelle mushrooms is pretty easy! You just need to keep your eyes open for bright orange mushrooms along the forest floor. The best part is that once you find a good place you can return there year after year for a mushroom harvest.
