How To Fix Noisy Disc Brakes On A Mountain Bike

If you are anything like us, noisy disc brakes are a constant issue on our mountain bikes. Instead of dealing with the squealing and squeaking follow along on this mountain bike repair guide that’ll silence those noisy brakes for good!

HERE'S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Isopropyl alcohol

  • Coarse grit sandpaper

  • A propane torch

  • Allen keys

  • Blue shop towels

  • Repair stand (optional!)

THE STEPS:

  1. Remove wheels

  2. Clean rotors with alcohol and towels

  3. Lightly burn rotors with a propane torch

  4. Let cool!

  5. Remove brake pads

  6. Lightly sand pads

  7. Re-install everything

  8. Bed-in pads

  9. Shred til' yer dead!
