Hiking Park Butte Lookout
Park Butte Lookout is a fantastic hike located in the Mt. Baker National Forest in Washington state.
The hike meanders through the meadows at the base of Mt. Baker, twisting through tall forest and glacial melt streams. The final push ascends into the alpine, along a ridge, topping out at 5,300 ft. with amazing views of the North Cascades. The most notable feature of course is the lookout, originally used to spot wildfires. It has been maintained and protected by a local alpine club and is an amazing spot to visit, even if only for the day.
